A wilderness canoe trip is a totally unique adventure, so no doubt you may be baffled about what you’ll need. Canoe trips are “down to earth” and fun, so don’t be concerned about bringing a wardrobe of fashionable attire. Pack comfortable fast drying clothes. The following list may assist you to assemble the items you will need on your trip.
• 2 pairs of quick dry pants
• Swim suits / shorts (quick dry only)
• Shirts: 2 t-shirts & 1 long sleeve
• 1 Fleece or sweater
• 1 Windbreaker
• 1 set of rain gear
• 3 sets underwear
• 1 Long underwear and /or pajamas (optional)
• 3 pairs of socks (wool, synthetic or cotton)
• 2 pair of footwear. (light hiking boots, sandals or river shoes)
• 1 Towel, toilet kit, biodegradable soap (we provide biodegradable soap also)
• 1 wide brim hat or cap (bandana)
• 1 Wool hat/ toque: (optional - helps keep you warm on a cool day and at night)
• 1 small flashlight or headlamp: do not forget extra batteries
• 1 Nalgene or water bottle
• Insect repellent (non-aerosol)
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm (chap stick)
• Camera (with waterproof case)
• Fishing Rod & tackle (optional)
The following items are very important for the trip to protect you from the weather.
- Two-piece rain suit: Ponchos are not as functional on portages or to keep you dry. Disposable rain suits will not hold up on a portage.
- Hat: The sun is extremely strong when you are on the water. A wide brim hat is recommended it will help keep the sun off your face and ears.

- Insect repellent: Aerosol cans are not permitted in Quetico. Bring a squeeze bottle or pump spray. |
